Queen Miriam
THE SOVEREIGN OF THE KINGDOM
"A crown is not a reward. It is a weight given to those strong enough to carry it without being crushed by it."
THE CALLING
To govern with wisdom, to protect with strength, and to serve the Kingdom before herself.
BIOGRAPHY
Queen Miriam did not inherit the throne. She earned it — through thirty years of service to the Kingdom in every capacity except the one she now holds. She was a healer before she was a general. She was a general before she was a counselor. She was a counselor before she was a queen.
She took the throne at the Kingdom's most vulnerable moment, when the previous sovereign had left it fractured and uncertain. She did not promise restoration. She promised honesty — and she has delivered it, at great personal cost.
She is not beloved by everyone. She has made decisions that were right and deeply unpopular. She has refused to make decisions that were popular and deeply wrong. She has never confused the two.
Her relationship with Captain Jamaica is one of the most complex in the universe — she is his sovereign, his protector, and in some ways his greatest challenge. She holds him to a standard that no one else would dare.
THE ARTIFACT
The Crown of Roots
Woven from the living roots of the Legacy Tree, the Crown of Roots is not a symbol of power — it is a symbol of responsibility. It grows heavier the more the wearer forgets who they serve.
